Anthony Racioppi will return to Hull City this summer after an unsuccessful loan spell at FC Koln, with the club now facing a decision over his future.

The 26-year-old joined the German side in January but failed to make a single first-team appearance. His only outing came in a 3-1 defeat for Koln’s reserves in the Regionalliga West. Koln have opted not to make the move permanent.

Racioppi, signed from Young Boys last summer, also made just one appearance for City – a Carabao Cup defeat at Sheffield Wednesday – before being sent out on loan. He remains under contract at the MKM Stadium for another two years.

With Carl Rushworth recalled by Brighton in January and Ivor Pandur ending the season as first choice, City are expected to add another goalkeeper once a new head coach is appointed. Whether Racioppi stays, goes out on loan again or is sold remains to be seen.
