Gustavo Puerta says he’s uncertain what the future holds, despite his permanent transfer to Hull City being confirmed last month.

The Colombian midfielder joined on loan from Bayer Leverkusen last summer, with a £3m obligation to buy triggered after 20 starts – a milestone he reached on Good Friday at Swansea.

City could still look to move Puerta on this summer as they assess the squad and aim to free up funds following last year’s heavy spending.

“For now, I’m just focused on a family break and preparing for next season,” Puerta told Colombian outlet AS. “Football is full of rumours, so we’ll see what happens.”

The 21-year-old made 31 appearances in his first season in English football and believes the move from Germany was the right one.

“I came to play more, and that’s what I did,” he said. “It’s important to know the club wants to keep me. That gives me confidence that I’ve done things well.”
