Hull City are set to sign 20-year-old midfielder Reda Laalaoui from FUS Rabat after agreeing a fee with the Moroccan club.
The box-to-box midfielder, who has been tracked by City for several months, is expected to join the club’s Under-21 squad under Conor Sellars at Bishop Burton College.
Laalaoui has 21 caps and six goals for Morocco’s Under-20s, including one in their 3-2 win over Kenya at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations. He’s featured regularly in Morocco’s top flight, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 23 appearances this season.
Rabat secured him to a long-term contract last summer amid European interest, with a sell-on clause understood to be part of the deal with City.
While Laalaoui is poised to join, reports linking teammate Yahya Benkhaleq with a move to Hull are believed to be wide of the mark.
